Saturday Morning

a different home Call To Prayer

My soul proclaims the greatness of God;
my spirit rejoices in God, my Saviour.

Psalm

Antiphon:

I have called you by your name,
the holy God, as truly as I live.

My Lord and my God,
You are great and tremendous,
clothed with splendor and majesty,
and with a mantle of light wrapped around you.

You have firmly founded the earth,
in eternity it will not be shaken;
the sea once covered it like a cloak,
the water was still above the mountains.

You are the creator of moon and time;
You, the creator of sun and sunset.
Everything waits for You full of hope,
all the living ask You for food.

As long as I live
I will sing to God.
I hope that this song will make God happy.
I am happy myself with You, my God.

--Psalm 104

The Word: Luke 1:46-55

And Mary said:

"My soul glorifies the Lord
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for He has been mindful
of the humble state of His servant.

From now on all generations will call me blessed,
for the Mighty One has done great things for me--
holy is His name.

His mercy extends to those who fear him,
from generation to generation.
He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
He has scattered those who are proud
in their inmost thoughts.

He has brought down rulers from their thrones
but has lifted up the humble.
He has filled the hungry with good things
but has sent the rich away empty.

He has helped his servant Israel,
remembering to be merciful
to Abraham and his descendants forever,
even as He said to our fathers."

For Reflection

How do I come to see God as God is,
rather than as I am?

trail and view

Prayer

Great and wonderful God,
I place myself in Your hands.
Hold me securely and let me see all of life
against the backdrop of Your love.
