Sunday Evening

building at night Call To Prayer

In the evening of my life, O God,
may I look with anticipation
to the everlasting morning.

Canticle

Antiphon:

Our God reigns forever and ever.

Salvation, glory, and power to our God;
God's judgments are honest and true.

Sing praise to our God, all you servants of God,
All who worship God reverently, great and small.

Our God is all powerful;
let us rejoice, sing praise and give glory to God.

The wedding feast of the Lamb has begun
and His bride is prepared to welcome him.

--Revelation 19:1-7

The Word: Luke 24:46-53

Jesus told them,

"This is what is written:
The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead
on the third day,
and repentance and forgiveness of sins
will be preached in his name to all nations
beginning at Jerusalem.
You are witness of these things.

"I am going to send you what my Father has promised;
but stay in the city until you have been clothed
with power from on high."

When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany,
he lifted up his hands and blessed them.
While he was blessing them,
he left them and was taken up into heaven.

Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.
And they stayed continually at the temple,
praising God.

For Reflection

The Spirit is alive in me.
In what ways might the Spirit be brought into the week ahead?

time to rest

Prayer

God of fire and Spirit of Wisdom,
I offer myself to You again
to give witness to Your love
in the world, this week.
