Thursday Evening

twilight Call To Prayer

At the closing of day,
may my prayers rise like incense
before You, my God.

Psalm

Antiphon:

God, with You at my side, nothing can shake me.

Protect me, God, because I come to You for safety.
I say, "You are my God; all the good things I have come from You."

How wonderful are Your faithful people!
My greatest pleasure is to be with them.

Those who rush to other gods bring many troubles on themselves.
I will not take part in their sacrifices;
I will not worship their gods.

--Psalm 16

The Word: Luke 11:9-13

"So I say to you, ask and you shall receive;
seek, and you shall find;
knock, and it shall be opened to you.

"For whoever asks, receives;
whoever seeks, finds; whoever knocks, is admitted.

"What parent among you
will give their child a snake
if she asks for an egg?
If you, with all your sins,
know how to give your children good things,
how much more will the Heavenly Father
give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"

For Reflection

How are you aware of God's release of the Spirit in you?
What is the effect on you, on the community?

Prayer

Spirit of God,
strengthen us to be channels of love
to others.
