The Passionists: 150 years in America, continued
Present and future
Together with these endeavors, the Passionists have continued to develop their established ministries, especially the preaching of missions, retreats, and renewals. Local communities also continue to provide apostolic assistance to neighboring parishes, and to provide opportunities for spiritual direction and the sacrament of reconciliation.
Both provinces have encouraged participation in leadership and planning through regional programs, membership on various boards, and open chapters. Inter-province collaboration has enriched apostolic endeavors and programs of initial and ongoing formation. Present objectives of the American provinces include continued collaboration with the local Church and on-going collaboration with laity, religious, and clergy in the fulfillment of the Passionist mission.
