For
thirty three years the Passionists have been televising The Sunday Mass
from New York to an appreciative audience of shut-ins and people in
hospitals throughout the country. Fr. Michael Salvagna, who grew up
in the Bronx, was recently appointed its director. "It's amazing
how many people we reach," says Fr. Michael. Frs. Leo Gorman and
Mark Connolly were the Mass' previous directors.
Last December,
Cardinal Egan celebrated Christmas Mass for The Sunday Mass which is
televised from St. Frances of Rome church in the Bronx by All-Mobile
Video. Celebrants and choirs are from the New York area. The TV Prayer
Guide, published by The Sunday Mass goes out to 75,000 subscribers.
The Passionists
also televise a daily Mass from St. Ann's Basilica in Scranton, Pa.
