A final note. What
about the chains in the Church of St.Peter on the Esquiline Hill? Some
authorities believe the chains may actually come from the ancient prison
of the Prefecture nearby. If that is so, could they have once held the
apostle after all? And if not Peter, perhaps a believer like him, who
shared his fate?
What signs shall
we, Christians of the 21st century, leave as evidence of our belief?
