Reflection and some questions

You may want to print this meditation for journaling or meditating later on. In any case, turn away from your computer for few minutes. Just talk to the Lord, who has demonstrated time and time again how much we are loved and cherished.

Now let your heart be quiet and listen to the gentle voice of God.

  1. The early Christians were fond of the image of Jesus as the Good Shepherd. What is your image of God? Gentle and caring or fearful and threatening?
  2. Jesus is truly human and truly divine. When you pray do you picture Jesus as man, as a friend, you can confide in?
  3. St. Paul says that Jesus is the revelation of God; we see Jesus and we see God . In praying to Jesus, does he open that hidden part of God to you ?
  4. Friends can be comfortably silent in each other's presence. Can you be silent in prayer?

Concluding Prayer

The Good Shepherd Lord Jesus Christ, born of Mary,
You walked among us, healing, teaching,
freeing all who came to you. You came to give,
give us life, and free us from the attraction of sin.
Thank you for being for us, and help me
to deepen my love for you.
